Troopers were called shortly after 4 a.m. on Nov. 16 to investigate a two-vehicle crash that was reported in the southbound lanes of I-95 near the 146 mile marker.

Police say that a Volvo SUV was heading north on the interstate when it struck a Chevrolet sedan head-on.

One person was pronounced dead at the scene and two others are being treated and evaluated for what were described as "serious injuries."

The crash resulted in all southbound lanes being closed for approximately five hours for the investigation and to allow crews to clear the scene.

No details about any of the victims have been released.
